On the Occassion of the Paasing Away of My Sister Margaret Anne
The Portal
I opened a new passage to another world,
One so peaceful, virginal and crystal clear.
I stepped through, exiting a polluted world
And took you through with me my dear.
Through a shimmering vibrating veil of light,
We eased from corruption, lies and dark night.
We entered a realm of such peace and tranquil
Undisturbed by confusion and civilized swill.
Behind us we closed the portal so strange.
Entered completely into this unknown range.
From private chambers, looking on breaking day
Finding unbridled nature rising serenely in sway.
Cool mists rising, curling gracefully toward suns.
In this place of primeval forest and lake sung
A multitude of strange siren calls of such song
Drawing us deeper into this place headlong.
Canoe gliding gracefully on glass smooth waters.
Watching gliding birds sailing above the waters,
Beheld shimmering fish swimming in the deep.
Vast untamed schools of moving fish in a team.
The great expanse lapped a tree lined shore
Bathed in the light of the twin suns the more.
Almost swallowed was the tiny alien shelter
That had allowed us to enter this curious welter.
Unbridled nature untouched by spoiling hand
Was the norm in this wondrous alien land.
Let’s keep it this way, so perfect and pristine.
Our secret from corrupting influence of greed.
Yet torn was I by the old ways, stuck in place.
I could not venture fully as you in the race.
I reached back to open again the portal way
Because the call of work had enthralled sway.
The gate shimmered open and in popped one
Who was at first strange but became someone
I knew from days of yore but though no more.
For it was my passed on sister entering from yore.
Entered he into the new world untouched by man.
Followed by two angels held by her hand.
I hesitated, taken aback by the strange new twist.
Stood transfixed as two angels grasped my wrist.
The portal was open and I had to now go back
To that dark world that offered reins and no slack.
Back to grind, pay the man, to hold open the gate
I had to go now as it was already now very late.
Into the plasma field I plunged followed by two.
Emerging in the stark darkness, a contrasting hue.
What manifested was something quite strange.
Everything that once was, was now rearranged.
