incipient Fascism, Then and Now

Today, British Columbia has the highest rate of poverty in the entire North American continent, but the rest of North America is fast catching up! BC has become infamous for having the highest child poverty for eight years running. Most people work for wages below the local poverty line. There is apparently nothing but open contempt for the poor in BC. Now they have to register to get food bank ID before they can eat. The new ID is complete with a photo and a personal bar code of the kind you would find on most commodities. They must present themselves clean shaven with two photo IDs, one none photo an proof of current address before they can get the food bank ID. The food bank ID will then have to be produced in order to get anything to eat. That this is being run from out of churches, shows the complicity between the state and the church. This trend has started Feb. 1, 2011 at the most vulnerable section of society, the handicapped and seniors and will soon be policy across the breadth of the system. It is thought that it will take all of February to register the handicapped and seniors who are forced to use food bank resources. Many handicapped and seniors pay the bulk of their meagre income to landlords who charge rent to the point of absorbing almost all of the monthly income. If you have no ID and you are homeless, you cannot get food bank ID and then you starve! This is what right to work accomplished in three decades! Now right to work to foodbank ID may seem quite a jump and unrelated, but there is a string of cause and effect starting in BC in 1983, where union busting, right to work and foodbanks all got started. BC started this in the early 80's with the result of the workforce going from 40% unionization to less than 10%. In addition, many workers are now what is referred to as the working poor and many of these use food bank resources as the paycheck goes mostly to the landlord or the mortgage and debt payments. Out of this “80s new BC paradigm” grew things like social safety net cuts and an over reliance on food banks. There is little doubt that variants of this scenario are playing out all across North America right now.

What seems innocent enough on the surface in a bid to control fraud, has deeper implications too. Once the recipient is photoed, the information goes into an electronic dossier where it can be tracked by any agency that wants the information. Though the declaration of privacy is usually made on associated forms, another dirty fact flies in the face of this. During the purges of the late 90s, there was a form that was issued to every social assistance recipient, able bodied and handicapped alike. This form was a waiver of privacy rights in order to recieve assistence. That means that in order to receive support from the provincial government, a person had to sign a suspension of privacy for all time thereafter. This waiver allowed all branches of the government open access to the recipients information, not matter what it was and who issued it. The government on all branches know who is able bodied, what age they are, where they live, or if they are handicapped and the nature of that condition. It is easy to see that in the wrong hands, this easy access to once private information is an asset to any agency that wants to have access to all of these clients and the ability to do so rapidly for any purpose deemed necessary by that agency. We are wrong if our thinking suggests that the horrific cannot happen here. Historically it has already happened numerous times. What makes us think we can avoid another incident such as the eugenic removal of First Nations via the Indian Removal Act, the interment of Chinese, Japanese, Geman and Italian peoples and of course, even unemployed workers. In this case, it is not a matter of if, but when. All of this happened in North America from 1830 through to 1945, but in the 1930s, a stark and drastic situation evolved in the Wehrmacht Republic.

It was in 1933, nearly 80 years ago that the Werhmacht Republic (aka the Nazi regime) began to “process” the handicapped by euthnizing them in garages where exhaust from cars was pumped in to put them out the misery of the Werhmacht. A little known fact of history tells us that the Catholic church was involved with the Wehrmacht state and all its programs. This was sold to the public on the premise that it cost a fortune to look after these unfortunates that would be better off dead. The public bought it in the main, except for the parents of children who had this happen and were told a lie, such as the child dying of influenza or some other contagious disease. They were not told that the handicapped children were deliberately murdered by asphyxiation using exhaust fumes. This was part of racial cleansing in the German form of the eugenics program. The precursor to the Gestapo and the eugenics program consulted files, made lists and rounded these people up for the final solution that then spread to people like Jews, gypsies, gay people, Jehovah's Witnesses, communists and others. This process evolved over several years from the garages used to asphyxiate the physically and mentally challenged to scores of mass murder factories throughout Europe during the rule of the Nazis. Though this information was well known among some cicles, such as the member of the Wannsee Conference, it was not learned by the world's people until the revelations of the concentration camps in mid 1945 during Allied takeover. But by then it was far too late. Millions had been slaughtered in the holocaust and 1,600 top scientists including such people as Van Braun, Dr. Mengale, the Butcher of Lyon and others, were spirited to safety via Operation Paperclip. The time line was 1933 to 1945, a twelve year period of misery, torture, medical experimentation, woe, war and agonizing death.

We come back to the current cycle where we have already seen a direct correlation between the economic crashes and depressions of 1929 and 2008, also about 80 years apart. Right on cue in the same time frame we see the registering of challenged people and seniors as well as other unneeded (read unwanted) people. In 2011 – 2012 alone in Canada the registration of marijuana users is now a fact in government dossiers on every single legal user. Of course, the legal definitions have changed and what was legal before is now illegal. The early part of 2012 is seeing the registration of all poor people, working or not, who use the food bank for survival. So far, this is being done to the physically and mentally challenged and many seniors. These represent the first line “useless eaters” that need to be controlled for the sake of “sustainability”. But it does not stop here. The next line is the collating of data for all those who use the same resources but are either working poor or are unemployed. These too will be forced to “clean themselves up”, submit the required documantation for a dossier and be processed with the bar coded ID. Given a few more years and the implanted RFID chip may well be manditory. The existence of such data in a world perilously close to being a Gestapo like police state is dangerous to all who have been registered.

Projecting ahead, based on the example of the Wehrmacht Republic as it was 80 years ago from today, it can be said if this pattern follows the cycle closely, that these people in the first round will soon be liquidated in a new eugenics program. Six years from now, that is, 2018, will see the slaughter of hundreds of millions in vast murder factories for recycling and sustainability. At that same time, there may well be a world war going on, but we are already in that with Bush's perpetual war on terrorism. But this is now and that was then. It is quite possible that many of these millions will be harvested for valuable parts, like what is going on in bureaucratic communist China today. This is a warning! It is only a warning! Failure to heed this warning can result in a tragedy that you can only blame on yourself in failing to take action when needed. That is what is required now, in this last hour before we repeat the tragic follies of the past.
